This seems like a workaround application. If you’re going to make an application for other operating systems don’t just flop your website inside a web view and call it an app. That’s kind of lazy. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been using your web application for about 6 months and I love how great it works (and let’s not forget free). I’m uninstalling not because I don’t like the application but because it seems unnecessary since I keep my browser open all day long.

Have tried and tested quite a few similar products with this one coming out on top. It’s really a great deal. Things to like: Easy website integration (wordpress, HTML, etc) Not directly related to this app review but needs to be considered given how well they are integrated together. Cross platform apps. The IOS and Mac apps are snappy & don’t hog a lot of resources and give you enough information to have a solid point of reference when interacting. Easy to see where or on what page a person is on. The analytics on this particular app are well done. Could be tweaked but a great first start and ahead of everyone else. Things that would be cool: I believe there is a mapping function that shows the clients location which I did not see integrated into the app. Could be my mistake. There is the IP and country location which is a start. As someone else mentioned, this looks to be framed into an app but it’s stable and works. The only place I noticed any lack of fluidity was mousing over the historical analytics section. Overall a really useable app and I am happy I ran into this!
Simply the best free livechat option available. The developers are very responsive and quick to resolve any bugs with the product. Reported an issue with full screen not working and it was fixed within a few weeks. No complaints at all, thank you Tawk team!

I have been using Tawk for a couple of weeks now and I cant think of a feature I might need that it doesnt provide. I can set triggers with custom messages based on the page my potential and current customers visit. I can set agents and departments, It works on my Mac and iPhone beautifully, it is truly a must have for any business who wants to incorporate chat on their site! When I started up I had some issues, I reached out to support and BAM, two seconds later a response via chat with everything I was doing wrong and how to fix it. Stellar Support! Really the support I got here is better than some applications I actually pay for :) It also is a nice way to see your traffic as it tells you how many people visit your site each day. You can see where people are located that you are chatting with and what opperating system and browser they are using! The features really go on and on. The people behind Tawk set out to make an application that many charge for, according to their website they offer it free "by providing live answering services for a select group of customers”. Whatever the reasons are, this program is amazing and you will love all you can do with it. It is a robust yet simple, expandable and sustainable solution for your business to offer live chat. Did I mention it is FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On a personal note. Thank you Tawk for giving me a way to talk to my potential customers as a startup every dollar counts for me and your solution has helped me immensely in looking proffesinal and providing instant support to my clients!
To me this seems like a self-contained web page, wrapped in a stand-alone app. Nothing wrong with that, especially since the new site design is fluid and responsive. Missed having a 5-star for me due to the limitation of the max window size. I like running apps larger than what this window’s max is, which I think is.1200x800 — of course, you can go full-screen, but that’s not what I’m wanting to do. Other than that, it’s nice to have a lower memory-footprint app (currently 130MB for me, vs another 180MB tab in Chrome). Side Tech-note. The ‘Full Screen’ button within the header itself doesn’t work, but going full-screen does work if you use the native expand-button.
Excellent Chat Service
This is a fantastic tool for businesses that are looking to scale or streamline communications. We've ran through a half dozen differnt tickets sytesms and Tawk.to is by far the easiest to use and most cost effective.
No Notifications
Works fine except there's no audio notification when chat is requested. You have to make sure it's open and on top of all windows, then sit and stare at it to make sure you don't miss connections. It's been this way for months despite the fact that they know about it. Alternative is to log in at the website.
Notification still not working!!!
Notification does not working on macOS. The workaround is to use the browser instead. This has been an ongoing issue for about 5 months now. Their customer service didn't do anything about it!!!

I tried intercom, olark and a few others Tawk is the best. I wish they had XMPP support though.
Terrible Customer Service
For a company that provides a customer service tool, they provide horrible customer service themselves. I recently contacted them to make a simple change to our account, but it ended up taking three weeks and a dozen emails and chat sessions. Their chat agents seem to be powerless to do anything, and emails to tech support are ignored. Will be looking for a different chat provider because I'm not about to spend hundreds of dollars per month for zero support when we need it.
